Dear Ministry Leader:

This is just a brief letter to explain some of the changes that recently took place in the structure and function of the Nominating Committee (NC). At our recent All Church Business Meeting, we voted a restructuring of the NC. They are now only electing about 16 of the major positions in the church. The rest of the positions will either be filled by the ministry head, or by a newly formed Ministry Search Team.

Therefore, as the ministry leader for your area, you need some basic information to keep this ball rolling. You have two basic options:

    1. You can either find/ask the qualified (spiritually, training, leadership, etc.) type of people you feel comfortable working with (they may even be the people who are already serving with you), or 
    2. You can make a request to the Ministry Search Team for the type of people you are actually looking for and they will seek to find someone who will help you fill that role in ministry.

If you choose option #1, you will be asked to make a report to the Ministry Search Team. Included with this letter is a reporting form for you. Also included with this letter, is the Ministry Description form for you to fill out so that you can make a more formal request of the Ministry Search Team if you choose to go with option #2. Rest assured that this team will work closely with you in developing the right group of people to serve with you. 

The goal of all these changes is that you build the team that will best accomplish ministry in the fashion that you see it happening as a leader. We will always ask that we work within the framework of the mission and the church-wide objectives (by December 2012):

    • To recruit 35 new Community Group leaders
    • To have at least 350 people involved in some form of our evangelism process
    • To get 300 people involved in a regular, personal devotional plan of Bible study and prayer.

I’m looking forward to advancing our church for the kingdom in a more efficient manner for the future. With this new structure, we’ll be able to make needed changes a more timely manner. Please be patient as any new system will have kinks to work out.
