Listen to My Voice
By Mary Jo Cannard
I hadn’t read more than a line or two in the women’s devotional book when my subconscious said, “Who wrote this?” A glance at the bottom of the page revealed Ginny Allen as the author.
I had known that, even if I hadn’t yet put a name to the voice, I had recognized it. I’ve heard Ginny preach, chatted with her often, and count her as a friend. Of course I would recognize her voice, even in her writing.
It made me pause, however, and wonder if I recognized God’s voice as quickly. Did I hear Him immediately when reading the Bible? Did I understand his whispered promptings in my subconscious? Was I as familiar with his voice, audible or written, as I was Ginny’s? I need to be.
My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
John 10:27 NKJV
Pray that you will recognize God’s voice, no matter how He speaks to you.
Pray that our congregation will recognize His promptings.
Pray that those who need to come to the Islam vs. Christianity meetings will hear God’s invitation and respond to His voice.
